Our Boys in the Armed Forces
The Community Patriotic Council began a program in summer 1942 to mail the Pointer weekly to Dalton and Riverdale service members, urging families to send news and update addresses. Several local servicemen share Navy, Army, and Marine assignments, training at Great Lakes, Farragut, and Puget Sound, with notes on letters, morale, and frontline experiences.
