Friars Buy Farm For St Joseph Seminary Move
The Francis 5S Peabody estate known as Mayslake farm northwest of Hinsdale has been sold by the Peabody heir to the Franciscan Fathers of Illinois for a new home for St. Joseph’s Seminary now at Teutopolis. The 848 acre site features a steel tile fireproof twenty four room house, a lodge with residence recreation hall garage and greenhouse and sixty other buildings. The price is undisclosed but about one million dollars is suggested.
