Notable Grouch Silent Millionaire Dies in Somerville
Benjamin Hadley, a reclusive Somerville resident who amassed about a million and a half dollars, lived for business and frugality. He shunned social life, never married, and avoided amusements, shaving, and most pleasures to maximize wealth. He valued money over human connection and died solitary, leaving a curious legacy praised by Evanaville News Journal.

Family quarrel sparks disturbance on 134th street Riverdale
Last Sunday night a dispute between two neighboring families in Riverdale spilled into their shared home. One man entered the wrong rooms and was struck with a broom handle by a woman, leaving large knots on his head. His wife then attacked him with a stove poker, keeping him sore for weeks. The other man stood at the gate post, laughing through the chaos until a fit of hilarity felled him.
