J Kruttschnitt Dies Sudden in Gotham
Julius Kruttschnitt former chairman and directing head of the Southern Pacific died at Presbyterian hospital New York after a brief illness from a heart attack. He was seventy. Under his leadership the line grew from 10000 to 16000 miles with earnings rising past 300 million. He rose from school teacher to resident engineer and executive positions in the Harriman railroads.

Big Run of Southern Grass Cattle Offered
The Bureau of Agricultural Economics reports a weak fed and grass cattle market for the week ending June 12 at Chicago and Kansas City. Sharp receipts and hot weather hurt dressed trade, with about 8 000 of 87 000 head in Kansas City being grass and cake fed. Hog trade steadier. top butcher cattle reached 12.65, up 5.25 from a year ago. Lambs saw early week price gains from lighter country loads.

Ex governor Emanuel L. Philipp, age sixty three, three terms as Wisconsin governor, died after a daylong illness at a Milwaukee hospital. A Republican native of Honey Creek Sauk county, he had business interests in Milwaukee. Survived by widow, son Cyrus L and daughter Josephine.
