Dalton Riverdale South Hall land Swim Club opens Saturday June at 10 a.m. for the 1942 season under pool manager Joe Rusk. Activities include swimming lessons, weekly adult and teenage nights, a special morning for handicapped children, guest nights later announced. Guests allowed starting June 18 with fees 1.25 for adults and 0.75 for children 12 and under. June 9-10 marks the start of the summer fun.

Holland youth dies in Joliet area crash
A 19 year old South Holland youth, Jack B Bratton Jr, was killed when the car he rode in collided with a truck at 167th and Cicero in Oak Forest. Two Dolton youths were injured one critically. The driver of the truck Jack Welborn was not hurt and faces reckless driving charges. An inquest into Bratton's death began June 5 and continued.
