Freight brakeman dies from injuries after train fall
H Gilliland a freight train brakeman on the Tiiisis Central died from injuries after a fall from his train last Friday night. The southbound suburban train stopped north of 147th street when flashes on the track were seen. Gilliland had flagging with matches before being found with both legs crushed and later amputated. He died at St Frances hospital. He lived at 608 East 89th Place Harvey.

Samuel Inlander of 1459 Garfield Boulevard Chicago was fined 15 dollars after arraignment before Judge F A Barnett in Hammond City Court for speeding. He claimed a Chicago arrest the day after Hammond and boasted about relatives in high positions.
