Mr. J. Kramer of the Cramer Co. well diggers South Holland Ill suffered a scalp wound a left hand cut and a broken nose when a pile drive wheel fell while he was oiling a machine at work for the Calumet Memorial Park. Nurse Miss Faith Bailey and assistant Miss Riley administered first aid and Dr E Jones treated him and set nine stitches. Dr Jones hoped his eye was not seriously injured. He was taken home by car with his condition assessed as improving.
A pleasant afternoon birthday party was hosted by Mrs Dora Peters on West State street. Games and music entertained guests before a lunch. Attending were Mrs John Wolf, Mrs Wm Schultz, Mrs F McCleallan, Mrs J Lorentz, Mrs H Royal, Mrs Wm Krug, Mrs H Francoeur, Mrs Ecklund, Mrs O Bossard. Out of town guests included Mrs G Wolf of Chicago and Mrs N Harder of Highland.
