Reported July 11 at Route 6 and Ellis Avenue in South Holland shows Mrs. Braum of 2742 W. Gist Street Chicago and Helen Minderhout of Palos Heights Illinois injured as Raymond Braum of Palos Heights collided with John Morton of 16007 Cottage Grove Avenue. The Rev Don Wise Moody Institute instructor of Greek and New Testament will speak at Riverdale Baptist Church July 12 at the 11 am and 7 pm services. The church meets at Roosevelt School 146th and La Salle. Wise, a Zion Illinois native, graduated from Moody in 1944 and Wheaton College with a BA and MA in Greek by 1951. Riverdale Fire Chief Leads 45 Officers With Modern Gear
Riverdale volunteer fire chief Herb Schmidt known as Skipper directs a force of 45 officers and men with four modern pieces of equipment including two pumpers a ladder truck and a new rescue squad. He joined in 1939 and became chief in 1951 after three years as assistant. He lives at 13825 Atlantic Street with wife Ethel and daughter Joyce. He advocates ongoing training and recently taught at the Illinois Fire College and extension courses.
