Illinois Selectives to Use Induction Pool Plan
The Sixth Service Command in Chicago announced a national plan to create a pool of physically qualified men for induction to meet Army and Navy quotas. Examinations occur at the Induction Station with a 21 day home return, certificates sent to boards, and later screening and assignment. The first Illinois group reports for induction on July 6 and will be transported to Fort Sheridan if drafted.

OPA Seeks Restitution In Rent Suits Against Local Landlords
The Office of Price Administration filed 16 rent suits in the Circuit Court Chicago including two local defendants. Stanley Pacyga of 16645 Kennicott Ave and Walter Gryabowski of 585 East 154th Place Phoenix face overcharge claims of 10 dollars per unit monthly from 1942 onward and 7.50 dollars per month for one unit since 1944. Each suit seeks injunctions to halt further overcharges and restitution of past overcharges.
