The Dolton Riverdale Building and Loan Association held its January 17 meeting with old directors re-elected. The group reports 1926 resources at 312,646.61, assets since 1912 at 626,579.00, loans in force 311,150, and 297 members including 93 borrowers and 204 investors. The article urges stockholders to promote the association to investors and borrowers and notes a 7 percent semiannual yield. Mrs Augusta Stahnke widow of John Stahnke longtime Dalton resident died at home 4101 Chicago street Monday January 17 aged 71 years 4 months and 12 days She was born Augusta Krueger in Quelon Germany September 5 1855 immigrated to America at age nine and settled in Chicago She married John Stahnke in 1874 and moved to Dalton in 1878 She leaves three daughters Minnie Kort Emma Klenk Anna Pinger and Edward plus two sisters ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter conducted by Rev Kemnitz Interment at Mt Greenwood.

Dolton village board held a short session to approve current bills and advance plans for special paving assessments. Notices, originally due January 7, were delayed as assessment books were late. they will be mailed once books arrive. Highway crews cleared snow. Riverdale and surrounding streets opened with major streets passable. Snowfall ranged from 12 to 14 inches with some traffic slowdowns and minor collisions. The Chicago downtown snow removal cost nearly a million dollars, while streetcar service kept key avenues open during the storm.
