Girl Murdered on West 188th Street After Night Out

A 17 year old mother Valeria Tymus was found dead with a 45 caliber bullet wound in the neck on West 188th Street. Her husband and sister identified the body and an inquest is postponed to January 21. Investigators traced movements to a friend’s house on 120th Street and Halsted with a party attended by Susan Enokian and two men. Police questioned the Enokian girl Harold Edwards Rocco Lacarde and other associates as they seek a killer identified as Jammer and motive of a fatal ride and murder.

Mike Stanczik Dies After Week Long Illness At 62

Michael Stanczik longtime Riverdale Delton resident died this morning at 6 after a week's illness from pneumonia aged 62. The body will be taken to his daughter Mrs Arthur Bessette at 634 Fredericka Street Delton. Funeral services set for Tuesday at 9 at St Mary's Church with interment at Oaklawn Cemetery Thornton.

Girl Saved From Two Attackers on East 134th Street

Fire Captain William Stitsel of engine company 118 Riverdale with three helpers surprised and overpowered two men who attacked a girl near a ditch 500 feet from William Brucer’s home. The girl identified as Mrs Jean LaFrance. The suspects George Koelowski and Dean Sheahan were turned over to Kensington police.

Zylstra Indicted Over City Collector Shortfall

Roseland figure Zylstra the city collector faced indictment after a shortage near $100000 in Thompson era records. Henry Wulff identified as cashier with bond of $15600. balance paid from Zylstra bond. Southern Surety Co. obtained $211851 judgment for principal and interest after a jury reduced a $125000 suit.

Riverdale village board and railroad attorneys met to discuss a proposed viaduct over Indiana Harbor tracks at Dearborn or State streets. The village claims a public street exists at Dearborn and State and seeks a bridge for the Ivanhoe subdivision. State Commerce Commission hearing set for January 11. action awaits the commission decision.

Dalton Man Dies After Long Illness At 45

Marlin Montgomery of Dalton died in Forest Home hospital on Sunday January 2 after a nearly seven year illness. He was 45 years old and is survived by his widow five children including Theodore Willard and Hershel two daughters Ellen and Louise his mother and two brothers. Funeral services were held at his East Lincoln avenue home conducted by Rev. Kreis with interment at Oakland cemetery.

Dalton man Absolom Fregeau dies after illness

Absolom Fregeau, foreman painter at C. and E. I. shops and longtime Dalton resident, died at home 541 Chicago Street Wednesday January 5 at 10 50 p m. Aged 58, he leaves his widow and daughter Marie.
