A serviceman from Redondo Beach California in the anti aircraft division writes to South Holland and expresses appreciation for the Pointer newspaper. He notes the paper’s value while away from home and hopes for a furlough to thank the senders in person as World War II continues in 1944.
The article warns of a critical shortage of waste paper for pulp and war material production due to reduced wood pulp imports and labor.
