Reports from 16 principal late onion states show 18 934 carloads slipped from stations in 1918. About 12 239 moved during harvest and 6 660 stored for later sale. Estimated 1919 crop at the same points 21 623 carloads with 7 879 storage. These 16 states produce about 75 percent of the annual crop.
Bell System Employees Offered Stock Purchase Plan
The American Telephone and Telegraph Company announces an employee stock purchase option for Bell System workers with at least two years in service. Eligible to buy up to one share per $800 annual wages, at $110 per share, with $2 monthly payments and 4 percent interest on unpaid balances. Dividends accrue until paid stock, and if employment ends or death occurs, paid-in amount plus dividends minus interest is refunded.
