Wrecker Wreck Near Kennington Leaves No Casualties
A derrick arm was struck when northbound Firemoor suburban train collided with it at a bridge on 134th Street Thursday around 7 AM. Engineer Rickey and Fireman Dawson escaped with little more than a scare as the engine tipped and the cab was demolished. Only one passenger was in the smoker and about 15 total aboard. all evacuated without injury. Crews cleared the wreck by noon leaving one track open for through trains. The incident occurred during a period of high suburban traffic with 14 million riders the prior year.

Killed by Street Car Boy Dies After Run Across Track
Raymond Pronger, a 12 year old Blue Island boy, started to run across a street in front of a street car, slipped, and was crushed when the front truck passed over his leg and hip. He died several hours later at Blue Island hospital. Take No Chances.
