A South Holland resident living near Fort Sill thanks The Pointer readers for the Christmas package and steady news for servicemen. Lt. and Mrs. Thos A. DeGroot express gratitude to the Chamber of Commerce and readers for prayers and support for soldiers and families.
Mrs. Jennie Ravesfoot died unexpectedly from apoplexy at her home 15925 So Park Ave. She was 53 and survived by husband John and son John Lowell Jr. Funeral services are planned for Feb 19 at De Young funeral home and First Reformed church with interment at Oak Lawn cemetery. She had been an instructor in local schools.
The Men’s Society of the First Reformed Church will meet February 23 1944 at 8 p m with guest speaker George Mensik once Al Capone’s chauffeur now an evangelist promoting Christian work.
