New County Building and Oak Forest Development Near Harvey
The Harvey Herald reports a new Oak Forest community near Harvey expected to house 2000 people by July with 25 brick cottages for couples 125 foot water tower and a 240 acre farm. A tuberculosis sanitarium will be a key feature as the project envisions self sufficiency with vegetables poultry and an artesian well system. A street car line possible with $40000 in bonds and cash from local capital would spur regional growth along 159th street and the area west of the ditch could see acre lots near the interurban link to Chicago Heights.

At a Jan 23 1910 meeting of George Washington Lodge No 189 in Dalton Illinois resolutions mourn the death of J J Garvey a switchman for the Chicago and Alton railroad who died January 15 after sustaining injuries December 30 A heartbroken wife and son are left and the charter will be draped in mourning for 30 days a copy of resolutions will be sent to the bereaved wife and the local newspaper for publication
