Couple Injured When Car Flips Into Ditch on State Street
Fred and Margaret Bosgraaf of 10850 State Street Chicago were injured Saturday December 22 when their car left the roadway on State Street 166th in South Holland. Police said the driver Fred Bosgraal reported passing a northbound semi then losing control on slick pavement. The vehicle slid into a ditch, rolled onto its right side, then righted itself and stood on four wheels.

Named To Surgical Group Dr Kenneth Stegman
Dr Kenneth Stegman ortho pedic surgeon and Ingalls Memorial Hospital staff member was the only south suburban doctor among 1105 new members of the American College of Surgeons at the 48th Annual Clinical Congress in Atlantic City New Jersey on October 18. Dr Stegman lives in Dalton. The congress oldest largest surgical group in the world promotes surgical teaching training and principles. Dr Loyal Davis chief of surgery Passavant Hospital Chicago Northwestern University professor and VA Research Hospital consultant inducted the new members. Davis outlined surgical training aims in his Credo. The event featured a large post graduate program with courses lectures films and live television from Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia. Stegman was one of 17 U S surgeons in the AMA clinical section program at the Los Angeles meeting November 25-28 demonstrating fracture techniques with splints casts.

Riverdale Crash Sends Teen to Hospital
Judy Gilbert an 18 year old resident of 15840 Marshfield Harvey received neck injuries in a two vehicle crash on 138th street near Atlantic Friday December 21 she was taken to St Francis Hospital by Riverdale Police. Judith Hanson of 14419 Kenwood Dalton drove a car that struck Joh R Diehl at 13841 School Riverdale who had stopped to let another vehicle pull onto 138th street. Hanson told Riverdale Police she braked but could not avoid Diehl's car. Both cars were westbound on 138th street.
