New Entrance Policy Aims to Ease SIU Enrollment Strain
Southern Illinois University Carbondale adopts a new plan raising fall entry standards and opening winter spring and summer terms for lower ranked high school graduates and transfer students on probation. Officials say it will equalize enrollments, expand counseling, reduce overloaded classes, and improve use of housing as many applicants are turned away each fall for lack of campus housing.
