Acme Plans Temporary Upgrade To Gas Cleaning System
Acme Steel Company will upgrade its gas and smoke cleaning equipment at the Riverdale plant around January 3 1963. A $5000 maintenance change will affect one large smoke cleaning fan for 10 to 12 hours and requires venting through the cupola stack. A company spokesman said repairs will occur only when winds minimize neighborhood impact and aim to further boost system efficiency.
