The Bowen girls baseball team finished ten games but played an eleventh with split squads and an 18 to 5 Gray win. Officers for the achievement club were elected, Clara Jay president and four other officers named. Seventh and eighth graders study birds, including turkeys, nests, and nut tasting, with Ethel Bishop and Lester Brookfelt contributing supplies. The class is rehearsing Christmas carols and plans next week’s work.

Courageous Woman Foils Robbers At Brennan Station
Three Chicago men Charles Wahl William Mc Queen and Frank Patterson were captured after Mrs Brennan used a tear gas gun to deter arsonists at the Brennan oil station at 159th and Keane. County deputies stopped an Oldsmobile sedan at 159th and Central and state police assisted. Each suspect is held on 25000 bail awaiting a hearing before Police Magistrate Joseph Flaherty in Harvey.
