A glamorous chicken salad uses leftover cooked chicken and Minute Rice as a base with peas celery and pimento. Boil water add rice and salt, let stand five minutes, then cool. Mix mayonnaise pimento salt and pepper, fold in chicken celery peas and rice, and serve on crisp greens.
A home recipe for Tirol Toss showcases Swiss cheese as the star, with torn lettuce chicory cooked frankfurters cucumber hard cooked eggs carrots radishes and tomatoes. Mix greens, top with cheese and frankfurters add eggs carrots radish and tomato, then dress with oil and wine vinegar. Serves 6 to 8.
Congressman Edward Derwinski of Illinois 4th District was chosen as delegate to the 48th International Conference of the Interparliamentary Union in Warsaw starting August 27.
