Donald L. Woods son of Bert and Mrs Woods 10505 Prairie Chicago formerly of Riverdale received honorable discharge at Jacksonville Naval Personnel Separation Center August 1 after 13 months active duty. He graduated Thorn township high school Harvey in 1945 and entered the Navy in June 1945. He trained at Great Lakes then served Banana River attached to the personnel office. He worked for Chicago Riverdale Lumber eight months before enlistment and plans to enter Loyola University this fall under the GI Bill. Also Donald Kraefft S-1/c discharged July 12 after two years with last station Bangor Washington Heidelberg Germany July 30. Major Kingdom Avery dental corps returned to Third Army Surgeon's office after 45 days temporary duty in the United States. He visited his parents Dr and Mrs Samuel Avery 14048 Park Ave Dolton Ill during the US visit. His wife Barbara daughter of Commander Ray Byrne accompanied him to Dalton and later they visited friends in Florida. Major Avery has served since April 1941 and earlier at Walter Reed and 99th Division HQ before joining Third Army HQ at Fort Sam Houston Texas. He earned a DDS from Indiana University in 1937 and before service interned in U S Public Health Service with reserve commission. He expects his wife to join him in Heidelberg in August.
