Mr and Mrs Dan Henderson moved this week to Beardstown Illinois to be near their daughter though they leave a daughter here Mrs Nichols Mr and Mrs Anthony Pike have moved to Chicago Heights returning when new quarters are ready Tunis Van Der An was ill with flu last week Election day marked his first day out Miss Edna Witvliet of Highland Indiana was honored with a household shower at South Holland Roosevelt school Sixty friends and relatives attended and gifts were given in June Miss Witvliet will marry James Voss of Aurora formerly of South Holland William Rinkema, homebound with rheumatism, is now able to go out again.

The Calumet Clean Streams committee heard from Illinois State Sanitary Engineering official Alswede and WPA supervisor Lindstrom about Little Calumet River cleanup from the Indiana line to Thorn Creek. Realtor John Vanderaa said only part of $65,000 is funded and about $90,000 more will be needed to finish the project.

Alswede suggests funding from township 22 percent, villages 8 percent, state 70 percent. Propper says local can pay nothing. $9000 remains to finish, mainly to level banks. state and federal control may still allow completion without local taxes.
