District 149 Board Answers Tax Questions Amid Meeting
At a stormy March 1962 District 149 meeting attended by over 200 residents, the board released a 12 page questionnaire response on rising real estate taxes. The board blamed tax hikes on lack of industry and urged pursuing new industry to ease the burden while maintaining education.
