Mayor Dever predicts large vote for traction ordinance

Mayor Dever campaigned across Chicago stating the traction ordinance would pass by a large majority next Tuesday. He outlined ward by ward benefits and cited doubled property values in the Ninth ward and nearby districts as proof of its potential to reconstruct wards, cut taxes, improve service, and lower fares. Alderman Govier supported the plan as fair and beneficial, while critics were accused of political motives and stirring suspicion.
