Rio Rancho to get nearly 47 million for new high school

Gov. Bill Richardson credited local officials led by Rep. Tom Swisstack for securing about 46.8 million in state funding for a Rio Rancho high school. Swisstack’s push helped the district receive more than any other in New Mexico as the bond plan funds the remainder of the roughly 72 million project. The city advances land purchase and road work linked to Unser Boulevard, with Lt. Gov. Denish promising ongoing state support and the school expected to open after a February bond election. Cleveland notes strong community backing for the four to now three largest district in New Mexico.
