Soviet goods bring glasnost to New Mexico couple booth
Rio Rancho couple Larry and Shelley Ginsberg run Specialties of the Seven Seas at Albuquerque's Classic Century Square, importing Russian items via relatives in Baku. They offer T shirts, watches, khokhloma pottery, matryoshka dolls, and Red Army watches, with monthly delays for imports. They plan to expand to candy, records, and cigarettes while accepting mail orders. They moved to Rio Rancho in 1983 with two children and host visitors daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to six.
