Last year 293 referrals were given. in three months this year about 150 have been issued, while discipline problems dropped by a third and staff report a more positive atmosphere.
Rio Rancho officials again consider raising impact fees amid developer concerns that higher charges could slow growth. City Manager Keith Riesberg and Anthony Caravella outlined current fees and the 2012 moratorium that cut fees, noting it expired in 2014. A prior lawsuit by Curb North Inc. claimed the moratorium harmed finances.
