Impact fee committee meets in Rio Rancho Wednesday

Cristy Records celebrates its reopening at 1670 A NM 528 in Rio Rancho with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Judge adds 40 years to Romero's sentence

Andrew Romero, already facing life without parole plus 20 years, received an additional four decades to his prison term Tuesday. He was convicted in September of first degree murder and lesser crimes in the shooting death of Rio Rancho police officer Gregg Nigel Benner. Prosecutor Barbara Romo argued Romero is a habitual offender, presenting documents showing three prior felony convictions to Judge George Eichwald.
