Officer injured in scuffle with suspect
Rio Rancho DPS officer Patrick Bowman faces knee surgery after a scuffle with 18 year old Patrick Gallegos led to torn knee ligaments. Bowman stopped Gallegos for speeding, then confronted him at a residence. Gallegos allegedly attacked, Bowman sprayed his mace, and Gallegos fled into the home where officers later arrested him. Bowman remains in a leg brace and on crutches with an uncertain return date.
