NM 528 second phase improvements slated for 2017 finish
Parsons Brinckerhoff consultant Hal Byrd outlined NM 528 phase two plans at a Meadowlark Senior Center meeting. The project from Ridgecrest Drive to Northern Boulevard aims to ease congestion with six lanes, new drainage, on road bike lanes and a multi use trail, while right of way parcels and final design are completed by 2016. An estimated 14 parcels will be acquired with funding around 14.5 million, final costs pending design and right of way.

Thanksgiving free feast at Rio Rancho McDonald’s event
On Thanksgiving Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1290 NM 528 Rio Rancho McDonald’s, Julian Garza and St Felix Pantry host a 25 year charity dinner with turkey mashed potatoes and pie. About 575 meals were served last year with takeout options. Proceeds from a quilt raffle go to the pantry and admission is simply appreciation for a home cooked meal. Bernalillo official arrested in domestic dispute case
