ASK Academy plans to nearly double enrollment with new Rio Rancho campus
The ASK Academy in Rio Rancho seeks up to 7 million dollars in bond funds to buy two buildings, expanding to 8 000 square feet of new classrooms labs and a partial gym. The plan includes a middle school with four classrooms three science labs and an engineering lab plus a biosafety level 2 lab with negative pressure for handling microorganisms.

Rio Rancho police officers from Cleveland High School taught elementary students at Enchanted Hills Elementary a Stranger Danger curriculum. County cuts debt with 4.8 million bond refinance
Sandoval County Commission approved issuing about 4.8 million in general obligation bonds to refinance a 2004 series. Interest drops from about 4.57% to 2.65%, saving the county more than 500000 in total. Remaining debt after sale will be about 4.775 million. Funds financed the judicial complex Idalia Road detention center and libraries. The refinancing also saves taxpayers 543000 in interest over 10 years.
