WWII veterans captured in Las Vegas NM oral histories

Highlands University students Jacob Erickson and Ivana Vidal produced video oral histories of 18 New Mexico World War II veterans for the New Mexico History Museum and Veterans Services. The project spans Santa Fe Rio Rancho Las Cruces and Las Vegas with stories from D day Normandy combat and the Burma China Hump route.

Best Buddies Chapter Inspires at Cleveland High

Tianna Habersham, a 17 year old junior with special needs, enjoys Best Buddies with friends who call her Miss Amazing. Holland, a Cleveland High wrestling coach, praises the group for its dedication and a fall fundraiser that exceeded expectations. Best Buddies, founded in 1989 by Anthony K Shriver, operates chapters in schools and colleges with programs in leadership and job training for people with disabilities. About 900000 participants across all states and more than 50 countries engage in Best Buddies activities.
