Trick-or-Treat crackdown targets sex offenders in Rio Rancho

Rio Rancho police and Sandoval County deputies joined Bernalillo police and an adult probation officer for about four hours on Halloween night. The Operation Trick-or-Treat checked 24 offenders with home visits to about 10, enforcing curfews and prohibitions on decorations, candy distribution, and alcohol or drugs. One offender with a past in first degree criminal sexual penetration and armed robbery sparked concern but was not arrested after checks. A separate report of a man photographing children led to further investigation. the operation concluded without additional arrests.

End of Daylight Saving Time Reminds All to Set Clocks Back

The nation marks the date clocks fall back one hour as daylight saving ends until spring. People are urged to note the change, enjoy the extra morning, and plan ahead for earlier darkness while local activities proceed as usual.

Veterans Day Ceremony in Rio Rancho Planned at 11 AM

The public is invited to a Veterans Day ceremony Monday November 12 at Veterans Monument Park starting at 11 o'clock. Guest speakers include Rio Rancho Mayor Tom Swisstack. The event is organized by the Rio Rancho Veterans Monument Organization and the Parks Recreation and Community Services Department.
