Zoning change deferred for Taylor Ranch project site

A proposed A I to SU 1 zoning change for 69 acres at Coors and Montana Roads was tabled by the EPC until the Bridge Task Force completes its study on impacts for urban planning. Corrales Mayor outlines incorporation impacts in Rio Rancho talks

Corrales Mayor Barbara Christianson described community experiences with incorporation to Rio Rancho Homeowners Civic Association. She said Corrales approved Rio Rancho’s incorporation efforts and noted zoning limits one family per acre, with Supreme Court questions about 800 trailers. She praised funds from CETA LEAA and Revenue Sharing, and said taxes haven’t risen post incorporation. The village now has zoning building regulations a municipal judge and police force. An illegal $500 daily pothole repair contract was discussed and Sandoval County’s animal control ordinance was found not in effect. The June meeting will be led by the Incorporation Committee.

New Mexico Tax Returns Rise in 1976 Filing Season

The New Mexico Bureau of Revenue reports 449,400 individual income tax returns filed to date for 1976, up 22,000 from last year. Refunds issued reach 292,045, with 395,100 returns initially processed and 4,300 still pending. Processing continues at 6,000 daily, six days a week, aiming to finish initial processing by May 28.
