NMSO Begins Search For Conductor

The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra seeks a full time Music Director to start in the 1985 85 season. The role covers artistic direction and conducting across the Southwest with expanding tours. The orchestra, founded 1932, has grown budgets and personnel and plans to salary 40 musicians by 1985 86.

Garden Club Plans Annual Show Dance into Spring theme

The Council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs hosts its 30th annual standard flower show at the Albuquerque Garden Center May 21 from 1 to 7 pm and May 22 from 10 am to 3 pm. Amateur growers compete for ribbons, special awards, and permanent trophies while the public learns about plants suitable for Albuquerque. The event features four divisions horticulture design and a junior division for students from second grade through high school with 82 horticulture classes and six design sections. Judging is by nationally certified judges from New Mexico and Arizona.
