DWI crash totals Rio Rancho police cars near Unser and 2nd
A suspected drunken driver, Hector Gonzalez Jr., crashed into two Rio Rancho police cars during a DWI stop near Unser Boulevard and 2nd Street. One police vehicle was totaled and the other moderately damaged as the Ford failed to brake before impact. Officers were not in the cars and were uninjured. Gonzalez Jr. tested BAC 0.2 and was arrested after a field sobriety test. An arrest report was not available at press time.

T-Mobile interest in Sprint center wanes

Broadmoor Boulevard expansion contract awarded in Rio Rancho
The Rio Rancho Governing Body approved a 2.68 million dollar contract with Franklin's Earthmoving Inc. to extend Broadmoor Boulevard from Northern Boulevard to Paseo del Volcan. The project will be funded by state funds the general fund and the higher education facilities gross receipts tax.
