Pork and Brew festival to bring pork races to Santa Ana Center

Defendant guilty in murder trial

Josh Tillinghast was found guilty by a Sandoval County jury of voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence after the defense’s late decision to have him testify. Prosecutor Rajesh Chakra called the testimony a key to the case as the defense sought to challenge the prosecution’s narrative and questioned the stabbing location and witnesses. Judge George Eichwald maintained rulings on self defense implications, while Tillinghast sobbed on the stand admitting the stabbing.

The trial of 21 year old Josh Tillinghast featured surprise testimony as the defense called for self defense after Judge George Eichwald denied immediate self defense instructions. Tillinghast cried on the stand describing taking a knife and trying to get out as the prosecution rested.
