Employee killed in Rio Rancho bowling alley shooting
A Monday dawn shooting at Ideal Lanes in Rio Rancho left James R. Chapman 55 dead. Chapman, a maintenance man at the alley, was shot at the rear door area during an early morning incident. He died after surgery at UNM Hospital. Police believe the assailant may have entered as Chapman opened a rear exit to take out trash. The incident left two bullets recovered on scene, one in the door and one in the dumpster. Chapman's wife Judith mourns the loss.

Rio Rancho sends flood project priorities to SSCAFCA
The Rio Rancho City Council voted 4-0 to forward a six item flood control priority list to the Southern Sandoval County Flood Control Authority.
