Sandoval County adopts FY 1984 budget plan

Sandoval County Commission on June 17 approved a 4.295 million dollar budget for FY 1984 county operations starting July 4. The measure includes a 10 percent merit increase for eligible county employees and outlines general fund revenues of 1.888 million and expenditures of 2.427 million with detailed line items for offices and programs including roads, fire districts, and disaster funds.

Corrales Council approves pay raises and grade plan

Corrales Village Council approved a salary grade plan and pay raises at the June 4 budget revision session. Trespass suit discussed in Sandoval County meeting

A trespass claim by Sandra Pueblo against Sandoval County, the State Highway Commission, and others was reviewed in a June 13 Sandoval County Commission session in Bernalillo. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in December, alleges eight miles of U S 85 and sections of two county roads lack proper easements, seeks over 192 thousand dollars in damages, and questions access to homes along Hill Road and Basque Road. County officials indicated no summons notice was received until May and that a settlement is being sought out of court.

Robinson Released From Jail After Restitution Hearing

Judge Mayo T. Howeher ordered Robinson to pay 192,533 in restitution to the family of Dr. Charles Webster after a Monday hearing in Bernalillo. Robinson, a convicted murderer, had served a year of a nine year sentence and was released with probation. Restitution to Webster’s heirs, including wages, funeral, medical and housing costs, may be offset by assets from bankruptcy proceedings.

Council to discuss annexation of 23 acre parcel in Bernatilla County

The council plans a June 28 discussion to consider annexing a 23 acre land parcel adjacent to Baja Corrales in Bernatilla County. Boundaries run south to the county line and west to the main canal, with Cabezan Road to the north and west. The annexation, part of Skyview Acres, follows last year's Planning and Zoning approval of the Baja petition, with no opposition at the commission hearing.
