Mueller climbs Mt McKinley on dangerous Alaska ascent
Harald Mueller, 55, owner of The Inn at Rio Rancho, joined eight climbers and three guides for a May to June ascent of Mount McKinley in Denali National Park. Only four reached the 20,300-foot summit amid minus 25 degree nights and 100 mph winds. Mueller, the oldest successful climber in his group, endured arduous training, heavy packs, and a spring blizzard that trapped the team at 11,000 feet. He documented the expedition for a slide show and local talks.
