Bernalillo Police Chief Hob Budagher announced a proposed metro squad to pool resources from Rio Rancho Corrales Bernalillo Bernalillo City Indian reservations and nearby communities for a federal grant of about 5250 00 to run a joint crime investigation unit. The plan aims to cover burglaries robberies murders rapes and car thefts across jurisdictions, reducing response delays and duplicative work. The grant would fund four to five officers a secretary and equipment with in kind support from departments and a minimum two year operation hoped to extend four to five years if successful.

Three Rio Rancho Teens Charged Over Lincoln Middle Vandalism
Three 14 year olds, Lincoln Middle School students, were charged with criminal damage over 1000 dollars for May 3 vandalism that damaged trees and shrubs at the school. Police say the confessions came after a confidential tip and the case is with juvenile authorities. The Cibola High School incident is separate, under ongoing APS Security investigation.
