Sandoval County approves 2011 budget with modest cuts
Sandoval County Commission approved a roughly 75 million dollar budget for fiscal year 2011 beginning July 1. The plan trims controllable expenses by about two percent across departments, with pay raises for employees including a 0.40 per hour bump for those earning under 14 dollars an hour and 0.25 per hour for higher earners. About 480 staff work for the county, which has saved by not filling vacant positions and cites good fiscal standing due to conservative projections.
