Madrid Ghost Town Set for Restoration in California
The Ballentine Investment Group of Palo Alto plans to restore Madrid ten miles north of Golden along Highway 10 to its 1910 look. They will rebuild 150 homes and buildings, restore mines, and attract artists and craftspeople with homes and shops for rent, with restoration slated to begin in September.
