Bentley subpoenaed in city funds probe grand jury

Tragic bicycle crash claims Rio Rancho girl
A 13 year old Rio Rancho girl Stephanie Lowman died after being struck while crossing NM 528 near Panorama Heights. Driver Robert Ayers 30 attempted to stop but could not avoid impact at about 12 19 pm. She suffered head trauma and other injuries and died at UNM Hospital at 12 54 pm. The incident occurred while she was returning from Lincoln Middle School summer classes. Witnesses say Ayers may have been traveling 45 to 50 mph in a 45 mph zone. Lifeguard helicopter was dispatched to the scene.
