Rio Rancho bids 5 percent rise in development fees
Rio Rancho Planning and Zoning Commission approved a uniform 5 percent increase across development fees for building plan checks zoning and land use reviews. The raise, first since 1995, would add about $31,000 yearly to the department's roughly $619,000 revenue and fund a new building inspector plan checker. Commission vote was 3-0 with one abstention. council action pending later this month.

NMHU Graduates Train for Call Center Jobs
The New Mexico Highlands University Center in Bio Rancho and Kaplan Professional announce the first call center training course in the area. Fourteen graduates will receive certificates at a 2 to 4 p.m. reception today, with funding from the Department of Labor and cooperation from Rio Rancho Economic Development Corp.
