City to offer Jimenez buyout
Rio Rancho City Manager James Jimenez said Tuesday he will receive a separation offer from the city after a nearly two hour closed session. Mayor Tom Swisstack said the board authorized City Attorney Jim Rabin to prepare the proposal and Jimenez will review it before commenting. Protesters supported Jimenez outside the meeting as councilors and the mayor spoke privately.

The day features the Fourth annual Corbin Hayes Flag Football Tournament at Rio Rancho High and a Veterans Recognition event at Loma Colorado Park from 4 to 9 pm with live music and food. A fireworks show at 9 pm at Rio Rancho High Stadium, with a 6 pm stadium opening, includes a family movie at 8:15 pm and an intermission at 9 pm. parking costs $5 for booster-club support.
