Former New Mexico Rep Eric Youngberg Dies at 42

Colleagues recall Eric Youngberg as intelligent funny and big heart. The Albuquerque Republican served three terms from district 23 encompassing parts of Northwest Albuquerque Corrales and Rio Rancho and died suddenly at age 42. He faced a 2008 loss to Democrat Ben Rodefer. He was a USC soccer alum with a law degree and CPA credentials, respected for public service and education advocacy. Fellow leaders remembered his humor loyalty and efforts to help constituents and schools. Further funeral details were not available at press time.
