West Mesa is set for a 1974 expansion with new housing projects and the entrance of additional industries and retail. Horizon Corp will build 200 Paradise Hills homes, AMREP aims to finish 171 Rio Rancho condos and push population beyond 4,000, while Dale Bellamah plans 700 acres in Fall's Volcano Cliffs for residential and commercial use. Corrales Shopping Center phase one starts in 1974, with a supermarket and multiple stores planned. Three Rio Rancho residents win in the Sandoval County Republican raffle: John Anderson, Fred Coppola, and John Cannizzaro.
