Rio Rancho explains DWI policy after two firefighter arrests
City officials say the Rio Rancho Fire Department policy on drunken driving matches industry norms. Two firefighters, Mary Ann Philips and Captain Jeremy Martinez, are on paid administrative leave pending internal investigations after DWI charges by Albuquerque police. The process follows union contracts and due process, with steps from paid leave to notice of contemplated action, hearings, and potential discipline.
